La maladie de Swayze, 55 ans, aurait été diagnostiquée en janvier. Depuis le mois dernier, le comédien subirait des traitements à la clinique vouée au cancer de l’université de Stanford, à Palo Alto. Il se prêterait à des séances de chimiothérapie intensives. Ses médecins n’auraient plus espoir que les traitements subis par l’acteur réussissent à le guérir, selon le tabloïd. Il aurait reçu trois traitements. La tumeur aurait rétréci mais de façon moins marquée que ne l’auraient souhaité les médecins. On lui aurait dit de se préparer à mourir. «On lui a fait savoir qu’il pourrait subir deux autres traitements sauf que son cancer ne réagit pas. Les médecins ont très peu d’espoir de le guérir», a dit une source au National Enquirer. Il aurait perdu plus de 20 livres au cours des dernières semaines. Il doit supposément se nourrir grâce à un régime liquide car il aurait de la difficulté à garder la nourriture solide, selon l’informateur.
